James was born in Greentown, Ohio where he lived for twenty seven-years. He moved to the Charlotte, NC area in 1981 to continue his occupation as a machinist. He has been employed by Siemens for twenty-one years.

James and wife, Michele along with their two children Erika, 28 and Josh, 26 reside in Clover, South Carolina.

James has chaired the Habitat for Humanity of York County board of directors for 4 years.

James is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clover where he has served on the Building Committee and Missions Committee. He served as a youth counselor for three years and was also on the Board of Trustees.

James’ spare time hobbies are motorcycling, fishing, boating, and rebuilding of antique cars.
