-from the slums
There are three major slums in Nairobi: Mathare, Kibera and Korogocho. All of them have a common denominator: conditions are very hard. Life is not easy and usually short. Sanitary conditions are deplorable. Most of the residents lack access to basic services such as clean water and electricity.

Korogocho Slum
The name Korogocho is a Swahili term meaning “crowded shoulder to shoulder. There is a huge population of children as AIDS is still widely spread amongst sexually active people.
In 2003, KOP helped to relocate more than twenty children from the Korogocho slum into Jubilee Children’s Center.
