To an orphanage

In February 2003, a team of 10 volunteers from KOP travelled to Ruai (Nairobi) to inspect the early construction of the Jubilee Children’s Center, made possible with the $50,000 donated by KOP. The dormitory block was under construction with one wing almost under roof. After the team completed building 25 bunk beds, 32 children were admitted at Jubilee Center.

From 2003 to 2009, KOP contributed to the construction of an elementary school, a secondary school with science and computer labs, a full kitchen with dining room and assembly hall. KOP also wired monthly payments to Kenya to support the operation of Jubilee, under the management of their Kenyan partners, Joe Mwangi Symmon and his wife, AlyceJo Mwangi, founders of Child of Destiny in California.

In 2009, KOP discontinued its partnership with Joe Symmon and Child of Destiny and relocated children to boarding schools.
